Another heartbreaking day at the Miramar ICE field office.

Today, an ambulance responded to the facility after someone reportedly fainted inside. Throughout the morning, we counted at least 33 unmarked vehicles entering the facility following enforcement operations, bringing more people into a place that is already overwhelmed.

For weeks, we have received consistent testimonies from people who were held inside describing rooms with up to 50 people, sleeping on concrete floors, going days without being able to shower or brush their teeth, receiving inadequate food and water, and being forced to use a bathroom under the constant surveillance of cameras while attending to their most basic human needs.

When I told one of the guards that people inside needed water, he didn’t argue with me. He simply replied: “I agree with you. The conditions here are horrible.”

These are not isolated accounts. The stories keep coming, and they all point to the same disturbing reality.

People deserve dignity, humane treatment, and immediate transparency about what is happening inside Miramar.
