Reuse Repurpose

This trunk was laying outside in a field of a friend, with the top off because the hinges were busted. Got it for nothing & husband replaced the hinges. I cleaned it up & restained it. Our daughter now uses it to store her Christmas decor.

I took a free hutch top, painted it, frosted the glass, and hung it up with a French cleat for a cute cabinet in the laundry room

I upcycle wood windows and frames for resin art. Used old dishes and ribbons to make jellyfish.

I needed something to block my dogs from running behind my bushes and we changed out our shower door and needed to find a use for the old one. I removed the metal framing, cut a groove in some 2x4s, framed them around the glass and stained!!

Rescued this ugly glider from the side of the road. Took it home and sanded what I could of the old paint off of it and painted it with what I had at home. Total cost: $0

This battered little mirror was going to be thrown away.
I decided it had potential and created this fingerpainting on to it.
It’s of a cat mesmerised by bubbles..(the bubbles work with the damage.)☺️

Update..just dipped them and I squish them lots so cement is absorbed in the stuffy not painted and refined yet..I'm making stuffed animals dipped in cement, then painted and polyurethane for long lasting in the garden..kids stuffed animals returned to them as adults.. pics soon..

That table comes with a story. My man found the legs 6 years ago. Someone had thrown out a badly damaged table and he being a man and thinking like a man thought they’d be usefull. They’re hollow but made of steel and heavy. You could put a ton of weight on them.
I hated them. So industrial and painted grey and ugh! I hate grey. Everytime we moved I’d try to get him to leave them behind, but he insisted on holding onto them.
So, this summer the man showed up with the top of a broken oak dresser. Just the top. It’s really heavy and what a beautiful naturally aged finish. It sat around for a while before I realized that it would fit perfectly under the kitchen window tucked up against the heater between the washer and the sink.
And then I started thinking about finding legs for it. It took me a while to remember those industrial legs that had been tucked away in the basement bellow. The ones I had sworn I would never ever want to use. I hate grey…but when they came to mind they seemed so right.
And now I have a perfect morning coffee corner with a veiw of my above street level garden with the cherry tree, and bamboo fencing.
I love scavenger hunting. I knew I wanted a table in this spot. Something narrow so it could be pulled away from the heater and easily moved out of the corner. It’s heavy and strong.
I’ve been keeping my eyes open and the man in his own weird intuitive way found the perfect elements. Thankfully we’re not into hoarding and rescuing everything we see and find. So many beautiful and useful things get thrown out. So sad!
FYI… I love the grey legs in combination with the warmth of the tabletop. Just couldn’t love them on their own.

Simple gate to go between my moms shed and back fence. The wind is strong back there, so I put some vents in the gate. Covered the vent holes with some metal decor I found at the thrift store for 6 bucks.
