We’re surrounded by labels. And I don’t mean the ones on our clothes. In my work with professionals like you, we often focus on noticing patterns.
The same theme comes up for many people: they often describe themselves through labels that are keeping them stuck.
This reminds me of a One Tree Hill episode from 2007 (yes, almost 20 years ago!).
So… here's my 2026 re-creation of it.
The lesson of the episode was: “People are gonna label you; it's how you overcome those labels. That's what matters.”
But the reality is that it's not just other people that label us. We label ourselves, too.
I don’t recommend that you try to remove the labels. It’s like the tagless labels that are permanently part of your shirts. The labels are there, but you don’t have to pay attention to them.
You don’t have to succumb to the labels. Remember: “It’s how you overcome the labels. That’s what matters.”
