Long time, no speak -- we're still out here and have been busy! The pandemic has changed our course a bit over the past two years, but we're still here and always active with providing aid and veterinary care to animals in need. Some of our latest charitable work has focused on helping community dogs in Colombia. We recently lent a helping hand to the Wayuu tribe on Colombia's north coast, where Project PetSnip provides dog food, spays/neuters, and donated flea and tick collars for outdoor dogs. We are regularly supporting families with dogs wherever we see the need!
Two weeks have flown by since Bruce's leg surgery! He's getting lots of attention with his daily physical therapy... and he's still quite the goofball. Just look at this video (Dr. Kramer doing range-of-motion stretches on all the leg joints)!
He's making slow but steady progress with his right rear leg. He puts partial weight on it, and still has some discomfort but overall it's definitely improved. We're continuing his pain medication, and he gets spoiled with lots of treats during his PT sessions. The latest exercises are figure-of-8's and sit-to-stand drills. ... which are all to help him strengthen the leg. And tomorrow we're going to start some swimming! The expected healing time is 8-12 weeks, so we're pretty much on schedule with where he should be at this point. GO, Brucie!
