My baby mama’s second baby daddy has been going through it for a minute. Life hit him hard, and after losing his place, he was sleeping on couches and doing whatever he could just to stay afloat. A lot of people turned their back on him when he needed help the most.

A few weeks ago, we were talking and he told me he was finally getting back on his feet and had found a place of his own. The only problem was after paying the deposit and first month’s rent, he barely had anything left. No bed, no couch, no TV… nothing.

I could hear the frustration in his voice, but he kept saying, “I’ll figure it out somehow.”

That didn’t sit right with me.

So without telling him, I went shopping and picked up some things to help him get started. Nothing crazy, just enough to make his new place actually feel like home.

When I showed up, he looked at me like I had lost my mind. He kept saying, “Bro, you ain’t have to do all this.”

I told him, “Yeah, I did. At the end of the day, our kids are siblings, and if you’re good, that means their family is good too.”

One thing about me, I don’t believe in tearing people down. If I can help somebody get back on their feet, I’m gonna do it. Especially when it comes to people connected to my kids.

Moral of the story: Helping someone win doesn’t take anything away from your own success. 💯🤞🏾
