This exhibition brings together three Cuban artistsโ€”๐—”๐—ด๐˜‚๐˜€๐˜รญ๐—ป ๐—–รก๐—ฟ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐˜€, ๐—”๐—ด๐˜‚๐˜€๐˜รญ๐—ป ๐—™๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ปรก๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐˜‡,ย and ๐—ฅ๐—ฎ๐—ณ๐—ฎ๐—ฒ๐—น ๐—ฆ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ผโ€”whose lives and practices were profoundly shaped by exile. Through sculpture and painting, the exhibition traces how exile reshaped their visual vocabulariesโ€”from Cรกrdenasโ€™ totemic forms, to Fernรกndezโ€™s charged, corporeal surfaces, to Sorianoโ€™s luminous, spiritual expanses.

Together, their works offer a powerful meditation on estrangement and resilience, revealing how the rupture of exile can give rise to new forms of emotive visual expression.

Throwback Thursday but keepinโ€™ it recent! โณ

Congratulations to Alexandre Arrechea on his recently inaugurated sculpture, ๐‘ป๐’‚๐’Ž๐’‘๐’‚ ๐‘ป๐’‰๐’†๐’‚๐’•๐’“๐’† โ€“ a center piece to Herman Massey Park in Tampa, Florida that reopened to the public this past Tuesday, April 21.

True to the artistโ€™s practice, Arrechea gives a nod to the historic Tampa Theatre adjacent to the park, celebrating its centennial year. Incorporating aspects of weather and time of day, the artist invites us to contemplate how these minor, inevitable shifts affect our experiences both within, and as part of a community.

Bravo, Maestro! Special thanks to Melissa Davies and the City of Tampa for the opportunity, and the hospitality.

Visit ๐‘ป๐’‚๐’Ž๐’‘๐’‚ ๐‘ป๐’‰๐’†๐’‚๐’•๐’“๐’† now on view at Herman Massey Park, Tampa, FL.

Collography, a unique style of printmaking that differs from traditional relief, was the primary medium used by late artist Belkis Ayรณn. Elusive to many, Basile invites us to peel back the curtain.

A Manhasset native, Basile () lives and works in Miami, Florida, and brings over 20 years of experience as a painter, printmaker, and educator. Her practice, grounded in an ongoing engagement with the environment and the material language of printmaking, reflects a sensitivity to place, process, and transformation. In this workshop, Basile extends that approach to participants, guiding them through a tactile and meditative exploration of collography that emphasizes both experimentation and personal expression.

Space is limited! If you wish to attend please RSVP using the link in bio. ๐Ÿ”—

Drawing on the concept of โ€œAmรฉfrica,โ€ articulated by Afro-Brazilian thinker Lรฉlia Gonzalez, the exhibition traces cultural, historical, and spiritual resonances that connect Africa and the Americas across the Atlantic. Mansaโ€™s work enters this powerful dialogue through its evocation of Kalungaโ€”the cosmic and ancestral waters that bind memory, migration, and diasporic identity.

On view February 27, 2026 - January 10, 2027.
