Sometimes referred to as the "Pompeii of Israel," Beit Shean is an ancient Roman town built over 2,000 years ago. It was destroyed by an earthquake and has never been rebuilt, leaving the town as it was. Walking the ancient ruins, which have been excellently preserved, is an important stop for many of our groups as they visit the center of the country.
