Join SAVE on July 3 in Fort Lauderdale for the AHF We The People March.

On the eve of America’s 250th anniversary, we are taking to the streets to remind this country what freedom is supposed to mean.

Ruth Shack’s leadership on Miami-Dade’s first lgbtq anti-discrimination ordinance and the activism that followed helped inspire the movement that led to SAVE’s founding.

From the 1977 Human Rights Ordinance to decades of organizing that followed, our movement has always been connected to local leaders and activists who refused to stay silent. The story of SAVE is deeply interwoven with the history of LGBTQ advocacy in South Florida.

Ruth Shack will be deeply missed but we will continue her legacy of fighting for legal protections and equal treatment for those who are gay, le***an, bisexual, transgender and non-binary.

Our first wave of Summer endorsements will ensure that we are backing candidates early and entering key races with strategy, infrastructure, and a clear commitment to electing pro-equality leaders who will fight for LGBTQ+ Floridians.

From Attorney General to the Florida House, this slate reflects where the fight for equality is headed and where SAVE is already organizing.

We have spent months building voter contact capacity, volunteer infrastructure, and community relationships across Miami, Miami Beach, and Surfside. Now, we are carrying that work into the races that will help shape Florida’s future.
