You are invited to attend the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida’s Celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. in courtroom 10-2 at the Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. United States Courthouse, Miami.

A reception will be held on the 10th floor following the program.

The celebration begins with a timely lecture, “The 18th Grievance,” led by United States District Judge Rodolfo A. Ruiz II. Drawing on the Declaration of Independence’s call for trial by jury, this discussion traces the vital role of jury trials from the founding era to the present day, and their place as a cornerstone of representative democracy and civic trust.
