Seven months in and I’m super happy with the progress. Everything is growing amazing under the Viparspectra LEDs, I can truly keep whatever I want nowadays and that feels great after a few years of struggling with the old setup. These have even been spread and par intensity than my Radions. Proof that you don’t need expensive lights to grow beautiful corals.
Just patience and a steady hand, be consistent with your care and water chemistry testing and anything is possible.
My leather corals came with me from Miami and most of them are 4 - 7 years in my care.
Calcium 440, Alk 8.5, Magnesium 1300, phosphates trace, nitrates trace, salinity 1.025
I dose 4 ml of iodide per week, spot feed reef blizzard twice a week, water change about 15% once a month, run my skimmer 6 hours at night about 3 days a week. I only have three small fish and feed a little pellets once a day for the clown. Mandarin is PHAT. 🤓

Happy Monday everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend.
Our website has corals again and is almost ready to open. The shipping company who we were using for the past few years has raised their rates sky high so I’m currently talking with some other good companies to get better rates. Once that is finalized in a couple days I can finally reopen the website for sales. In the meantime enjoy some updated photos from our reef. 😊

When my reef tank was done cycling 5.5 months ago, I found a really good deal on a 29 gallon biocube that had a handful of corals and this derasa clam for sale. The clam was about 6 inches at the time but only opening about halfway because of the tank size. Since adjusting to my reef and stronger lighting it’s really opened up and done some major growing. It’s taken a long time to settle down and moved around a lot which earned it the name Rocky. Now it’s about 8 inches and looks great. In the past few weeks it’s stopped moving around so much and appears very happy. Going to be fun to see what size it maxes out at. 🤓
