Today I celebrate 10 years clean. Before I got clean in 2012, I had no purpose and was totally okay with the fact that I would die from my . I wasn’t scared to die, I was scared to live! In recovery, I learned how to live life on life’s term; I learned that I don’t have to pick up no matter what; I learned that my life is contingent on the maintenance of my spiritual condition; and most importantly I learned that God’s got my back no matter what difficulties arise. There are also a million other things I learned, and probably another million things that I still need to learn, the work is far from done, but just for today, I’m proud of where I’m at and thank God that I’m still here and able to help others recover.
