On International Plastic Bag Free Day, we’re proud to share how Areas USA is reducing single-use plastics in a big way, by starting in the heart of our operations: the kitchen.

🚫 We’ve vastly reduced the number of plastic trash bags used in our kitchens.
✅ Instead, we now use 10-gallon transparent bins to collect food waste, a change that’s driving both sustainability and accountability.

By removing the “out of sight, out of mind” mindset that often comes with traditional trash bags, our teams are more conscious of what gets thrown away. And the impact is clear:
