Microsoft shipped something enterprises have been waiting for.
At Build 2026, the company released the Agent Control Specification (ACS), an open standard that defines what an AI agent is allowed to do, what it cannot do, when a human must step in, and what gets logged for audit.
Until now, teams were improvising. System prompts here. Custom checks there. Classifiers bolted on after the fact. The result: fragmented controls that are nearly impossible to audit or reuse across different frameworks and environments.
ACS changes that by making governance portable. Policies travel with the agent across frameworks, platforms, and runtimes, not locked into any single vendor's stack.
But here is the uncomfortable question this raises:
Governance policies are only as reliable as the data behind them. You can define what an agent should do. If the data feeding it is inconsistent, undocumented, or ungoverned, the policies become theater.
This is exactly the gap BIX Tech has been measuring in the market. And the numbers are sharper than most companies expect.
More on that soon.

Mid-market companies are running into the same wall.
You have data. You have AI ambitions. But your infrastructure wasn't built for both at the same time.
The pain points are consistent:
- Siloed tools that force your team to stitch together pipelines, ML environments, and dashboards manually
- No unified governance layer, so AI models run on inconsistent data and produce unreliable outputs
- Analytics locked behind technical teams, while business users wait days for answers they should get in seconds
- No clear path from raw data to deployed AI, which means every new use case becomes a new architecture problem
Modern data platforms are being rebuilt around one principle: the full lifecycle of data and AI needs to live in a single, governed ecosystem.
Ingestion, transformation, model development, deployment, and monitoring in one place. That is not a luxury. That is the baseline for competing with AI.
BIX Tech just released a new video breaking down how this evolution is happening and what it means for organizations ready to move faster.
Watch it now. Link in bio.

Simple question. But when we asked it across hundreds of companies, the answers were surprising.
Yes? Not yet? Still testing?
On June 10, BIX Tech publishes the full picture: how the market is actually using AI agents right now. No hype. No filter.
