A Thoughtful Look at the 2026 Job Market Shift
I’ve been seeing a shift in the job market that I think is worth discussing.
More candidates are sharing that their roles were eliminated due to restructuring, outsourcing, or business realignment. In many cases, these are professionals who dedicated years to their employers, performed well, and were impacted by decisions that had little to do with their individual performance.
I understand companies have to make business decisions, reduce costs, and adapt to changing market conditions. At the same time, there is a very real human side to these decisions.
As we move through 2026, I believe this will continue to shape the hiring market. Strong professionals are entering the market through no fault of their own, and employers may have access to experienced, loyal, and highly capable talent.
For candidates, this also means it is more important than ever to clearly communicate your value, adaptability, and results.
