Who's every dad's favorite superhero?

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. Thanks for everything you do, even the things that often go unnoticed... like the brilliant jokes. Hope you have a great day.

One message was written for victory. The other was written for failure.

On June 6, 1944, Dwight Eisenhower carried both.

The first was his famous Order of the Day sent to Allied troops before D-Day. The second was a handwritten note accepting full responsibility if the invasion failed.

Looking back 82 years later, success can feel inevitable. It wasn't. Nobody knew how the day would end. In fact, Eisenhower was under such pressure that he accidentally dated the failure note "July 5" instead of June 5 before correcting it.

That's what makes these two documents so powerful together. Confidence and doubt. Hope and contingency. A bold decision paired with accountability.

Sometimes leadership isn't knowing you'll succeed. It's making the best decision you can with the information you have and being willing to own the outcome either way.

Today, we remember and give thanks to the brave men who stormed the beaches of Normandy and all those who have served since. While we can never repay their sacrifice, we can honor it through service to the communities we love, including the veterans we've been privileged to support through our homelessness initiatives.

Never forget.
