Will Rogers famously said "I've never met a man I didn't like". If you meet someone face to face you will always see something good in them to appreciate and it's hard not to like them. It's time to return to civility in our public discourse. I gave up my Law practice seven years ago due to serious liver failure caused by an Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, a hereditary condition, for which I would die without a liver transplant. I couldn't do my clients justice in my debilitated condition. After over a year of deterioration waiting for a liver, I miraculously got one literally on my deathbed. My recuperation took a few years. The costs were largely not covered by my health insurance so I was nearly financially wiped out despite having saved a substantial sum for my retirement. Nevertheless, my lifestyle is very simple and frugal now so I get by well. I mention this background not for sympathy or to convince people to vote for me or donate to my campaign, but to show that I have suffered adversity and I know about financial struggle. I also learned to really appreciate the value of life. I can and will excellently and selflessly represent your interests in all of the decisions I will make as a Council Member. Now that I am fully recovered I am excited to use some of the experience and abilities I have developed over a lifetime, to work for the betterment of all the people of Mesa. I have the intellect and demeanor and free time to do a better job than any other candidate. I understand the needs of those who are well off as well as the working and middle class families and the poor and less fortunate. I will always look for a way to reach a win-win solution to help everyone. Danny Hart, 2026
