It’s week two of our PTSD Awareness Month special honey based ciders, and this week is Prickly Pear and Honey.

PIGLET
Did you ever notice how Piglet is always looking over his shoulder, expecting something to go wrong, or worrying about what might happen next?

Piglet’s constant nervousness and tendency to expect danger can resemble hyper vigilance, a common symptom of PTSD. After experiencing trauma, the brain can become stuck in protection mode, scanning for threats even when you’re safe. What once helped someone survive can make it difficult to fully relax, trust their surroundings, or find a sense of peace.

Part of what we hope our taproom can be for each of you is a place where you can let your guard down. A place to gather with friends, share stories, find community, and experience moments of safety and connection. While our taproom isn’t a therapist’s office, feeling seen, supported, and welcomed can be an important part of the healing journey.

Just like Piglet’s adventures through the Hundred Acre Wood, courage isn’t the absence of fear. Sometimes it’s simply taking the next step despite it.

There is hope beyond trauma,
and with support, it’s possible to move from surviving to truly living again.
