In 1901, Arizona was one of the remaining territories within the United States of America, and even though our Arizona territory pioneer women affiliated with the General Federation of Women's Clubs officially on November 18, 1901, Arizona was not recognized as a "state" affiliate until the state became the 48th State of the Union in 1912.
