Hey Treasure Valley! A thunderstorm is rolling in starting tomorrow, bringing strong erratic wind gusts up to 50 mph, heavy rain, and lightning. Quick Actions You Can Take Today:
• Scout for Weak Branches — Walk around and look for dead, cracked, or hanging limbs that could come crashing down in high winds or lightning strikes. Remove loose yard debris, patio furniture, grills, and trampolines.
• Help Your Trees Stand Strong — Thin dense canopies if possible so wind can flow through (not push them over). Young or leaning trees especially need extra attention.
• Lightning Safety First — Avoid standing under tall trees during the storm — lightning loves them! Bring potted plants inside and secure anything that can blow away.
• Home & Property Prep — Secure gutters, close shutters/gates, move vehicles out from under big trees, and have a family emergency plan ready.
• Stay Informed — Monitor weather alerts and avoid outdoor activities once thunder starts.

River Birch peels beautifully here but needs extra water. Plant near a downspout (with good drainage) for a natural microclimate in our arid summers.
