Sheep Crossing! You don’t need to wait until October to witness one of Idaho’s oldest past times.

This Saturday around 9:30am, is the beloved sheep crossing on Highway 55 in Eagle. It’s a sight not to be missed!

This spring tradition happens every year as legendary rancher Frank Shirts moves thousands of sheep to the Boise National Forest and Payette National Forest for summer grazing.

If you go, a few things to know:

• Leave your dogs at home
• Don’t walk toward or through the herd
• Move slowly
• Listen to the herders

If you miss the sheep in Eagle, you can catch another herd in October at the Trailing of the Sheep Festival in Ketchum.
