I am located just outside of Meriden Kansas (about 20 minutes from Topeka and Lawrence). I am an NRA-certified Kansas Basic Pistol and Concealed Carry instructor located in Meriden, Kansas. Classes currently offered:
1. NRA Basic Pistol course (4 hours, $75)- This course is a great course for new gun owners or anyone who would simply like to become more comfortable handling their gun. In this class, you will learn essential gun safety rules, different types of pistols and how to select which one is best for you, the basics of ammunition, the fundamentals of pistol shooting, different shooting positions, the most common shooting errors, proper gun cleaning and maintenance, and how to maintain your skills after the class. Approximately 3 hours will be spent inside the classroom and 1 hour will be spent at the gun range. Passing this course earns the student a Basic Pistol Course certificate.
2. Concealed Carry course: (8 hours, $100)- This course begins by covering the material taught in the Basic Pistol Course and ends with going over the Kansas laws and statutes concerning guns, concealed carry, and if you ever need to defend yourself or others by using a firearm. This class is approximately 6.5 hours of classroom work and 1.5 hours at the range. When this course is completed with a passing score, the student will earn a Concealed Carry certificate that allows them to then apply for a Concealed Carry license in the state of Kansas.
3. Basic Pistol and Concealed Carry course (8 hours, $125)- This material for this course is the exact same as the Concealed Carry course, however, on the gun range, you will shoot the necessary target scores to earn both the Basic Pistol certificate and the Concealed Carry certificate.
