Code 3 K9, Inc. is humbled and proud to announce the appointment of Doug Lowry as our Senior Training Advisor! Doug comes to us as he continues his career as a staple to the national bloodhound/mantrailing community. Doug began his career as a Trooper with the Maryland State Police in 1973 and became part of their K9 team in 1979. Doug ran K9’s in multiple disciplines to include patrol, detection, cadaver and mantrailing and retired from law enforcement as a Corporal/Agency Head K9 Trainer. After 32 decorated years of service with the Maryland State Police, Doug retired from law enforcement and continued his service to the mantrailing community.

Doug has served in various roles from Senior Lead Instructor to Vice President of the Law Enforcement Bloodhound Association and President of the National Police Bloodhound Association. Doug has trained law enforcement K9 teams from coast to coast and has testified as an expert in courtroom testimony on numerous court proceedings in multiple states. Doug and his four-legged partners have even been featured in numerous shows and publications to include being featured in National Geographic!

Doug possesses a high level of integrity and an unwavering passion for service to the K9 community, making him the perfect fit for Code 3 K9, Inc.! Welcome aboard!!

2021 Code 3 K9 Spring Seminar is a wrap! The Spring Seminar consisted of classroom presentations and training trails in some of the best conditions we could have asked for here in sunny California. After the handlers and their partners worked their tails off training and earning their POST certifications, they had the opportunity to play in Temecula’s Wine Country and Old Town.
Coming out of COVID lockdowns, this was a small seminar but standby for details on our Fall Seminar in the very near future as we add more instructors to staff to maintain our low handler to instructor ratios! The quality of you training matters!

and got to visit Dr. Wentzel and the staff at California Oaks for their checkup. K9 Abby and Athena are the third generation of bloodhounds we have been taking to see Dr. Wentzel because of his expertise in working dogs and passion for what he does. Thank you for taking exceptional care of our four legged heroes!
