I am always on the lookout for a great reading challenge. Here is one from Books-a-Million who partnered with Erin Hunter, the author of the Warriors series. Read four books and get a prize! You can do it online, or pick up a list of books from their store. The great part is, the list includes so many different genres! Something for everyone.

This book surprised me so much! Listen to this: Earth is destroyed by a comet, forcing Petra and other scientists into stasis for a centuries-long voyage to a new planet. Upon waking, Petra finds a totalitarian cult has erased everyone's memories of the past, so she must use storytelling to keep humanity's history alive.

It is always hard to find appropriate middle school level romance, and this one is perfect. We will be looking for more by this author!

Summer Reading Challenge This summer, as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of America’s founding, we are excited to invite all children (K-8) to join in the Second Lady’s 2026 Summer Reading Challenge. Participants will read and track 12 books of their choice between June 1 and September 4. Every book counts!

How is your summer reading challenge going? Remember, just 20 minutes of reading to color in a book! Fill the page for a prize! I have made great progress and read some wonderful books that will be added to our library next school year. Stay tuned for some book recs!
