Introducing The Long Play.

This Saturday, Memphis Listening Lab launches The Long Play, a new free listening series built around one simple idea: every gathering features a single album experienced from beginning to end. From brand-new releases to timeless classics and overlooked gems, The Long Play is designed for devoted fans and curious listeners alike. Whether you know every note or you’re hearing it for the first time, every album is an invitation to listen together.

For our inaugural edition, we’ll drop the needle on EUSEXUA AFTERGLOW by FKA twigs, one of the newest additions to the MLL collection. After months of anticipation for the vinyl release, we’re excited to finally experience it together in The Sound Room through Memphis Listening Lab’s reference-quality playback system.

We’re also excited to partner with 🎶 Amplifying Voices in Music , who will host the afternoon by introducing the album, dropping the needle, and sharing the listening experience with everyone in the room.

Apparently it takes 5,000+ words to explain what Memphians already know: there’s a lot happening in this city musically. USA Today’s deep dive into Memphis music is a great, comprehensive read—and a reminder that the story here is far from finished.
