Lou's birthday party featuring bongo party crashers.🎂😂
Lou the Red River hog celebrated turning 4 years old today, so keepers treated him to ice treats, biscuits, enrichment-filled boxes, and decorations that everyone (including the bongos) got to enjoy. Happy birthday, Lou!

We've got your 4th of July plans right here! 🦅 Join us for our celebration, featuring bounce houses, sunglasses for kids (while supplies last), specialty food items at the Food Truck, a Memphis Grizzline performance from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., and special holiday enrichment for our animals!

Thank you to everyone who came out to see Ru and celebrate her half birthday today! 🥳
Beyond 6 months, this celebration marks even more exciting milestones she’s reached! Our primate staff has noted that Ru is starting to climb when mom will let her down and she’s starting to take an interest in her environment by reaching out to grab things, eyeing enrichment, and even starting to gum food.
We hope as Ru continues to grow and learn, you’ll grow with her! Young orangutans will stick by mom for around 8-10 years before becoming independent. We’re so excited to share many more memories and milestones between our guests and Ruhana! 🧡
