Construction at the new Frayser Library is nearly complete. The work on the building and paving install is impressive, but we have to show some love to the “back of house.” Thousands of native sedges were planted to create a lush, low-maintenance and environmentally friendly landscape between the building and existing woodland.

Sedges and other natives can offer long-term cost savings versus a traditional sodded lawn. They require mush less water, little to no mowing, and can support pollinators and other wildlife. We’re excited to see this landscape develop and track its progress - looking great so far!

Congratulations to the Memphis Botanic Garden on their new Youth Education and Tropical Plant House being named a finalist in Memphis Business Journal’s Building Memphis Awards!

Shoutout to team members 4F Design and Grinder, Taber, & Grinder. We enjoyed working through plans for hardscape, grading, drainage, and other site details to help shape the outdoor classroom and patio space outside of this new tropical oasis in the heart of Memphis.

DT escaped with 9 minutes to spare from the High Noon Saloon Room . If the clues were plant names we’d have really nailed it. Fun times!

DT design studio enjoyed a great evening at The Grove at GPAC, which is one of our recently built projects and a collaboration with the talented folks at archimania. Thanks to the Germantown Performing Arts Center for a wonderful evening and for supporting local musicians.

Fall is here and what better way to enjoy this amazing weather by heading to the Agricenter. The Sunflower Trail is a bike and pedestrian pathway that connects the Agricenter to Shelby farms. While on the trail, check out our signs where you can learn about the Agricenter research from solar panels to cotton fields. There is so much valuable knowledge you may gain along this amazing path!
