Gray Rolfing
Rolfing is a system of physical manipulation and movement education that is designed to restore the body to its healthiest and most efficient alignment. By lengthening and repositioning the connective tissue (muscles, tendons, ligaments, etc.) Rolfing works to establish changes in the body's overall structure and sculpt it into a more efficient working unit.
What is Rolfing?
Rolfing is a type of body work which aims to realign the body's balance and structure through manipulation of the muscles and soft connective tissues, called fascia. While a chiropractor adjusts the hard bones of the body which form the skeleton and provide the body's orientation according to gravity. A Rolfer instead manipulates the soft muscles and fascia of the body which cradle and support the bones. Through progressive application of therapy in re-positioning this soft support system we find that in time that the bones re-align themselves! After the body is properly aligned through the application of various techniques the force of gravity is then able to flow through it, allowing the body to better heal itself!
Rolfing has the most lasting benefits when following a ten session series of procedures which systematically works through the entire body releasing bound up and overly tight fascia restrictions.
