School's educational responsibility doesn't include just the staples like history, math and science. School is a place where children make sense of current events in a safe space as well. NPR has a new comic made just for kids to help them understand Coronavirus.

Educators please be intentional sharing this information with your students. They should know that some things are in their control when it comes to staying healthy and how to show compassion to others who might be sick.

Schools are increasingly incorporating classes similar to what used to be called "home-ec" in their curriculum. As parents are working more or engaging with the "gig" economy to make ends meet, students are looking more to other outlets to help them learn crucial "adulting" skills like financial literacy, cooking and doing taxes.

"Adulting School was founded in 2016 in Portland, Maine, by therapist Rachel Weinstein, who often treated young adults who felt overwhelmed and unprepared for some of life’s everyday challenges."
