117 Prime

After nearly 6 years serving the people of Downtown Memphis, it is our sad duty to inform the public that 117 Prime will be permanently closing its doors. Our last night of service will be Saturday, April 20th, 2024. This decision, made by our ownership, was only reached after considerable deliberation and after exhausting every possible solution.

We are happy to say that Belle Tavern, located at the rear of our building and accessible via Barboro Alley, will remain open. Harold, Brie, and Sara will continue to provide the friendly service and delicious drinks that have made Belle Tavern a destination for whiskey lovers and Downtown locals for years.

We want to thank the people of Memphis for all of their support over the years, and we especially want to thank our incredible staff. Particularly since the pandemic, much has been asked of our team members to keep the show going, and their dedication and unparalleled level of ex*****on often came at the expense of long hours and much personal sacrifice. We are proud of the work that we accomplished during our time, and we know that our 117 Prime family will go on to do more incredible things in the Memphis hospitality community. 🍷WINE DINNER ALERT🍷

We have a very special guest for our September wine dinner, which is the second act of our double feature on South Africa. Francois Haasbroek - winemaker and owner of Blackwater Wine in Swartland - will be joining us in-person to share his experience and insight into what makes South Africa such a special place to make wine. His wines are some of the most exciting we've tasted lately - they simultaneously balance restrained structures and exuberant aromatics and flavors, and his proficiency with non-traditional varieties like Palomino and Carignan is a true demonstration of his skill. This will be an incredible opportunity to pick the brain of a winemaker, which is always an insightful and rewarding experience. We hope to see you there!
