One of the biggest misconceptions in leadership is that trust and accountability exist on opposite ends of the spectrum.
They don't.
In healthy organizations, they reinforce one another.
When trust is high but accountability is low, teams can become complacent.
On the other hand, when accountability is high but trust is low, people often operate out of fear.
High-performing teams intentionally cultivate both.
They create environments where people feel safe enough to speak up, challenge ideas respectfully, ask for help, and learn from mistakes.
At the same time, they establish clear expectations and hold one another accountable for delivering results.
Both trust and accountability help create exceptional teams.

Trust is earned one conversation, one decision, and one action at a time.
