You ever sit down with your coffee
and realize… you were shrinking
to be chosen or just to feel like you belong?

You called it “being patient”
but it was you overextending.

You called it “understanding”
but it was you self-abandoning.

You called it “love”
but it felt like anxiety more than peace.

And the hardest part?

Nothing was confusing.
You just kept trying to make it work anyway.

Read that again 🌀

Language influences the way we understand ourselves more than we realize. ✨ In many languages like Spanish, emotions are expressed as temporary states, while in English they can easily become part of identity. Growing up with Spanish as my primary language is something that I noticed, a lot gets lost in translation. I’m pretty sure it happens with many other languages. ✨

This doesn’t mean one language is right or wrong, but it invites an important reflection:

Are we experiencing emotions,
or are we becoming them? 💭

The words we choose can either fuse us with our pain or help us create space to understand it. ✨

What do you think? 🌀

Do you notice a difference in how you talk about your emotions depending on the language you speak? 🍃
