5 Visuals to Replace Verbal Prompts:
1. Morning Routine Chart — pictures of each step: get dressed, brush teeth, eat breakfast, pack backpack
2. Getting Ready Checklist — a simple list on the bathroom mirror they can check off
3. Homework Station Card — what to do when they sit down: open folder, start with hardest subject, check work
4. Chore Photo Card — a picture of what a “done” job looks like (a clean room, a loaded dishwasher)
5. After-School Visual — snack, backpack unpacked, homework out, then free time
5 Things Parents Can Say (One Prompt, Then Step Away)
1. “Your chart is on the mirror. Come find me when you’re done.”
2. “Everything you need is on your list. I’ll be in the kitchen when you finish.”
3. “Check your visual. I’m not coming back to remind you — you’ve got this.”
4. “The picture shows what done looks like. Show me when it matches.”
5. “One reminder, that’s it: follow your chart, then come get me.”
