Excellent work by all involved. We also appreciate the mention of the companies that were recalled prior to arrival. It’s a detail that’s often lost in incident summaries, but it speaks to the depth of the mutual aid response and the many firefighters who stood ready to help if the incident had escalated. That’s what makes the fire service such a strong team effort. 🚒🤝

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ MEDIA 5 MILE RACE TOMORROW – PLAN AHEAD 🚧

A friendly reminder that the annual Media 5 Mile Race takes place tomorrow evening, Friday, June 12 at 7:00 PM.

If your Friday plans include traveling through Media Borough or nearby areas, expect road closures, detours, increased pedestrian traffic, and delays before, during, and after the race. Consider giving yourself a little extra travel time and checking traffic conditions before heading out.

The Media 5 Mile is one of Delaware County's favorite traditions, bringing together runners, volunteers, spectators, and local businesses for a great evening in the borough.

👋 Be sure to stop by and say hello! Rose Tree Fire Company personnel will be staged at the corner of Olive Street and 8th Street throughout the event. If you see us, don't be shy—come grab a high five, cheer on the runners, and help us celebrate another great community tradition.

Good luck to all participants—we'll see you out there!

📡 Congratulations to RTFC member Robert Famiglio (K3RF) on receiving the prestigious Technical Achievement Award at the 2026 Dayton Hamvention — the world’s largest Amateur Radio convention.

Hamvention brings together approximately 40,000 FCC-licensed radio operators from around the world each year, and Robert was recognized during the National Awards Banquet for his longstanding contributions to emergency communications and public safety technology.

For more than 15 years, Robert has also served as a speaker on Emergency Management law-related topics at the convention’s educational seminars.

While Amateur Radio may seem like a niche hobby to some, emergency communications play a critical role during disasters, severe weather events, and large-scale incidents when traditional communication systems can become overloaded or unavailable.

As an added benefit to our organization, Robert’s work recently led to Rose Tree Fire Company being offered specialized satellite emergency information equipment through SiriusXM. The new system will be installed in our radio room and will provide direct emergency information for our FEMA region.

We are proud to have members who continue to bring knowledge, innovation, and dedication back to our department and community.

Congratulations, Robert, on this well-deserved recognition! 👏
