Beat the heat and stay safe this week! The Medford Health & Human Services Department has compiled some hot weather safety tips and signs of heat-related illness. Please take all safety precautions to keep yourself, friends, and family safe during this extreme hot weather.

With temperatures climbing, take a few simple steps to protect yourself and those around you:
💧 Stay hydrated—even if you don’t feel thirsty.
🧢 Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
🌳 Take breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
👶🐶 Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle.
❤️ Check on older adults, neighbors, and anyone who may be more vulnerable to the heat.

Heat-related illnesses can develop quickly, but they’re often preventable.

Stay cool. Stay safe. And if you or someone else experiences signs of heat exhaustion or heat stroke, don’t wait—call 911 immediately.
