FEEL LIKE YOU'RE FALLING SHORT AS A PARENT?

You can't be everywhere at once. So when you're there, just be fully engaged.

This is how God made our relationships work, so it's okay for it to be our pattern too: proximity, presence, person, and promise.

Proximity is just being there. Sometimes it's having your kids with you while you run a Saturday errand, or getting up early to make lunch, handing them the paper sack, and giving mom a break.

Presence is doing life together. Maybe you're telling a story and listening to theirs, or you're playing a game and letting them destroy you, just laughing, just being in it together.

Person is speaking into their life. You put down some guide markers, some guidestones, and you say the things that need to be said. Whether they accept it isn't your responsibility. Saying it is.

Promise is what forms over time. Out of all of it, some agreements get made that will be enough for the rest of their life, and the rest of yours.

If you feel behind, breathe: you don't have to bring all four at once. You only have to bring one of them at any given moment.

So when you walk in feeling like it wasn't enough, look at the four and ask: which one can you bring right now?

BEFORE YOU COMPARE YOURSELF TO ANOTHER POST, READ THIS

Think about your value. Your brain is the fastest computer on earth, your heart beats over a hundred thousand times a day, and your nervous system can't be duplicated.

No one has your fingerprint, your voice frequency, or your eye print. Your personality and your soul can't be replaced, can't be reproduced, and are absolutely priceless.

There's no one else with your exact wiring, your calling, your giftings, or your purpose. So why would you ever let anything convince you to devalue yourself?

Maybe that's exactly what the world is after. You scroll Instagram, Snapchat, or TikTok, and social media pushes you down, bullies you, and tries to make you feel inferior by someone else's fake post.

But God answers all of it. Instead of building a temple, He chose to make you His temple.

Paul tied your worth to God's presence in 1 Corinthians 3:16: "Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?"

Next time a screen tries to shrink you, remember you carry the Spirit of God, and you are better than billions.
