Today we lost a legendary graff writer. I grew up watching .one_fx and looking up to the I don’t know how many times I watched the FX video.

PerOne began painting in 78’ and was known for his East Coast/Bronx colorful wildstyle and large scale murals as he was a founding member of FXcrew and a former member of , two of the most influential graffiti crews of all time.

Though we never met he touched our lives as well as many others around the world through his art. We send our deepest condolences to his wife, family, friends and crew.

🎙Inspired by the Roland TR- 808 and the TR-909, electronic drum machines released in the 1980’s, these machines were known as “beatboxes.”

It wasn’t long before people started to mimic their sounds, using their mouths to make various sound effects and breathing techniques, known as “beatboxing,” “the fifth element” of hip-hop.

🚨We owe the creation of beatboxing to 3 legends:

🎤Darren "Buff the Human Beat Box" Robinson, coined the bass-heavy breathing technique. He first exposed beatboxing after winning a talent show, performing with trio “The Disco Three”, later to be known as “The Fat Boys.”

🎤Doug E. Fresh is known for his famous click and roll technique. He further popularized beatboxing with his hit single “La-Di-Dah-Di.”

🎤Biz Markie introduced “the inward hand clap” (CL Snare), beat-rhyming, and singing between the beats.

These techniques would later influence the second generation of beatboxers, such as Rahzel who released the most influential album of all time “Make the Music 2000” and introduced “the vocal scratch.”
