Our incoming kindergarteners got some hands-on practice with Maggie today. πŸ’›πŸ’œπŸΎ

Before meeting her, students learned how to properly ask permission to pet a therapy dog and how to interact with her respectfully. Then it was time to put those skills into action with Maggie herself.

A great lesson in kindness, respect, and building confidence with our newest Panthers!

Learning about healthy foods is hard work… good thing there were popsicles involved. πŸ“πŸΎ

Today, summer camp students cooled off with homemade fruit popsicles as part of their healthy foods PBL. Maggie joined in on the fun and was happy to help demonstrate that healthy treats can be delicious, too. πŸ’›πŸ’œ

Maggie had a special visit with our kindergarten readiness bootcamp students today. As part of their PBL focused on service dogs, therapy dogs, and K-9s, students have been learning all about the important jobs dogs can do.

Today they got to meet a real therapy dog, learn more about Maggie’s role in schools, give her some pets, and even share a dance with her. Maggie loved spending time with our littlest Panthers and helping bring their learning to life. πŸ’›πŸ’œπŸΎ

Maggie was ready and waiting outside this morning, helping welcome students as they arrived for summer camp. A friendly face and a wagging tail are a pretty great way to start the day. πŸ’›πŸ’œπŸΎ

Last day of school means one very important tradition for Maggie and her boy…a stop at Penguin Palace for ice cream together. πŸ’›πŸ’œπŸ¦πŸΎ

A sweet way to celebrate the end of another school year and kick off summer break.

One quick hug for Maggie before heading into summer break. πŸ’›πŸ’œπŸΎ

Simple moments like this say a lot about the connections our students build with these dogs throughout the year. Have a great summer, MMS!

Maggie wrapped up the morning with a visit to Fort Miami. In Mr. Noward’s Kindergarten class, one student gave her a lei, and Maggie happily posed for pictures with some very excited kids on the last day of school. πŸ’›πŸ’œπŸΎ
