Spring Green Youth Diversion Program

Yesterday we had the pleasure of working with Let’s Build Beds in Maumee!! Our team of youth and adults got into it cutting wood and doing some branding on these future beds!

Did you know that this organization provides beds to kids within the community that don’t have one? Regardless of the reason, this amazing organization spends countless hours to give all the kids they possibly can a bed. Please consider volunteering or donating!

Next week they have their Bed Blitz!! They’re heading out to get 600 KIDS a bed that have been waiting on it! With sheets, mattresses, pillows, etc.

Saturday we went out to volunteer with the Toledo Metroparks at Swan Creek! We helped remove some non-native plants and planted new ones in their Butterfly sect!

We learned about some new plants and some good things to do to help the butterflies! 🪴🦋

We're not suggesting teens should get away with bad behavior, we're suggesting they get the opportunity to learn from their mistakes. Our Youth Diversion program takes their bad choices and uses it as a chance to grow, gain insight and tools into how to change the trajectory of their future. Time after time something we hear a lot from our parents….

“Why would they do that? I raised them better than this.”

“I caught them smoking or I caught them drinking.”

“They lied to me and broke my trust.”

All of these are valid, if we truly delved into this, let’s think back…..Did we as parents make poor choices in our teenage-hood?….

There’s A LOT going on for today’s teens with social media influences, social skills, and so much more. Remember there’s times where we have a lot going on too. Open communication is the best way to help guide your teen. Remember that little words such as “I love you,” hold powerful moments for your teens.
