It’s summer, and Root & Rise Learning Center has openings for 1:1 tutoring sessions in downtown Martinez!

If you’ve been thinking about getting your child a little extra support, now is a great time to start. Whether your student needs help closing learning gaps, building confidence, getting ahead for next year, improving executive functioning skills, or simply staying sharp over the summer, we’re here to help.

At Root & Rise, we believe learning should be personalized, engaging, and meaningful. We don’t just sit students down with a stack of worksheets and call it tutoring. Every session is tailored to the individual child. We incorporate games, movement, hands-on activities, discussion, creativity, and yes, sometimes a worksheet or two, when it serves the student’s needs. Our goal is to help students truly understand what they’re learning while building confidence and independence along the way.

We are credentialed teachers/counselors with experience supporting students in all subjects from TK through 12th grade. We also specialize in helping students develop executive functioning skills, organization, study habits, and motivation. We are knowledgeable in California State Standards, a variety of curricula, and even the infamous “new math.”

And the best part? This is drop-off tutoring! Bring your student, let them learn and grow, and enjoy an hour to yourself. Grab a coffee while it’s still hot, take a yoga class, walk the marina, run errands in peace, or simply sit in your car (or waiting room) and enjoy some uninterrupted doom-scrolling. No judgment here.

Our 5th grade student was learning to divide whole numbers by fractions. We went over keep, switch, flip & she was so excited! She said “where’s the post it notes?!” We made our own poster for her to add to her math journal! She was so happy to solve & divide like a champ 👏🏻💪
