Another Minnesota heat advisory for the next week is upon us. Make sure your condenser coils are cleaned off, filters are clean/new, nothing blocking the vents, keep the shades closed to help block the big beautiful sun from beaming in your house. With these temps coming it’s not uncommon for the system to run a lot more than usual and have a harder time keeping your set point to where you may normally keep it. When temps are above 95 the ac is at max capacity!

🔥 A/C Not Working? Check These Things Before Calling for Service! ❄️

Before scheduling a repair, take a few minutes to check these common issues:

✅ Make sure the A/C and furnace breakers haven’t tripped.
✅ Check that the furnace switch (usually looks like a light switch near the furnace) is turned ON.
✅ Verify your thermostat is set to COOL and the temperature is set below the current room temperature.
✅ Install a clean air filter. A dirty filter can restrict airflow and cause your system to freeze up.
✅ If you can safely access it, rinse off your outdoor condenser with a garden hose to remove dirt, grass clippings, and cottonwood.

Still not cooling?

If your indoor blower is running but the outdoor unit isn’t, or the outdoor unit is running but you’re not getting cold air, your system may have frozen up.

🔍 Check the copper refrigerant line between the indoor and outdoor units for ice or frost.

If you see ice:
❄️ Turn the thermostat OFF.
🌬️ Set the fan to ON (not AUTO) to help thaw the system.

Today was all about modifying and a game of inches!
New a/c looks a bit tight but it is set within clearances needed per the manufacturer!
A lot of metal work was done on the interior to spruce this gem up and increase that efficiency along with the visual appeal of the overall completion!

Top left: A new return drop and boot was a necessary feature to add into this new system so the customer actually had access to the filter to ensure a regular changing routine without issue!

Top right: leveling ground and adding pea gravel to ensure a stable foundation under the new a/c to keep it level without shifting is a huge benefit that is a necessary procedure but sometimes others may skip!

Bottom left & right: these turned out beautifully and commissioned to spec on start up for both the heating and the cooling side as a standard of our start up checklist for all new AND repaired equipment!

Sometimes it’s more about the little things brought to light for the customer that can help them properly maintain their new systems with ease that’s the real bonus in the end!
