An owner will be best able to find their pet if it is being held at the impound facility for the city it was lost in. The owner may not even think to check with other organizations (like Animal Humane Society) and may not be reunited with their pet if it isn't at the correct facility. If your pet goes missing, it is best to call PUPS to report it right away. If your pet is in our care - proof of ownership, current Rabies vaccine info and impound fees will be collected when picking up from PUPS. All stray pets are held for five business days. Unclaimed pets will then be made available for transfer to an approved rescue organization. PUPS is not set up to do adoptions, but if you are interested in adopting a pet at our facility you can fill out this quick application, and we’ll send it to all of our rescue partners. You will need to go through their approval process for fostering/adopting a pet. We cannot guarantee availability of adopting an unclaimed pet at our facility - they are available to the approved rescues on a first come basis.
