ISO Finishing
ISO Finishing is a customer driven isotropic mass finishing job shop specializing in high energy polishing and micro-precision surface improvement of customer parts and components. In addition to our ability to work with all types of materials, we can turn most mass finishing projects in 1-3 days from receipt of parts. We can remove burrs, parting lines, residue and unwanted particles on parts tha

FROM FLAWED TO FLAWLESS | SURFACE FINISHING FOR FLAKY 3D PRINTED PARTS
Post-processing is a critical step for additively manufactured (AM) components and is required for nearly all 3D printed products. This is particularly important where the potential of flaking, shedding, or peeling can lead to life-threatening complications in high-risk medical devices such as:
•Pacemakers
•Defibrillators
•Heart valve components
•Neurostimulators
•Electrode components
To ensure safety, performance, and regulatory compliance, AM medical components require advanced surface finishing during post-processing. While processes such as heat treatment or hot isostatic pressing (HIP) can be used to improve material integrity, isotropic centrifugal barrel finishing (CBF) provides essential surface refinement as either a final step or a standalone process.
CBF enhances component performance by:
•Removing loose and partially melted powder particles
•Reducing surface irregularities that can act as crack initiation sites
•Improving fatigue life and overall mechanical performance
•Inducing beneficial compressive surface gains
Post-processing is not merely an optional step, but a fundamental requirement for ensuring safety, reliability, and performance of AM medical devices. CBF helps transform surfaces of as-built AM parts into safe, high-performance parts, helping safeguard patients in life-critical applications.
Let us show you first-hand how our finish can become your finish on your AM medical products of any material type.

PEDAL TO THE METAL
Few things transport us back in time, quite like an old school BMX bike. Memories of sunshine, friendship, and freedom rush in, reminding us of a simpler era. Although we specialize in surface finishing for complex, precision engineered components across all material types, we’re occasionally asked to take on specialty projects near and dear to our customers’ hearts.
Recently, one of those customers asked us to restore and polish their retro Victor BMX pedals - and we’re proud to let the results speak for themselves…
5 FUN THINGS ABOUT BMX BIKES
1. BMX began in the late 60’s as a copy cat sport to Motorcycle Motorcross. Kids used parking lots, empty pools, and backyards to recreate tricks seen by professionals.
2. While not the 1st aluminum frame, the P.K. Ripper was introduced in 1979 and quickly became a BMX icon and is often cited as the longest-running production BMX. Modern BMX frames commonly use chromoly steel, which is strong and light weight.
3. Freestyle flatland BMX’ing is essentially breakdancing on a bike. There are 4 additional freestyle disciplines: park, street, vert, and dirt.
4. BMX was introduced in Beijing as an Olympic sport in 2008. The winners were Māris Štrombergs of Latvia for men and Anne-Caroline Chausson of France for women.
5. If you want to watch a BMX cult classic, get out your VCR and rent 1986’s Rad, staring Bill Allen. Just remember, “Be Kind, Rewind.”
