At 3:22PM on Wednesday, March 25th Maple Grove Fire Department, Police Department, and North Memorial EMS were dispatched to a house fire in the 7300 block of Orchid Lane in Maple Grove. Police arrived to find heavy fire in the rear of the home and attic. Initial reports indicated that occupants may still be inside or have gone back inside the home. Fire crews arrived to begin evacuation and suppression efforts. Thankfully, all three adult occupants were able to exit the home without injuries along with one pet. Crews were assisted by the Plymouth Fire Department and Golden Valley Fire Department. The cause of the fire remains under investigation but is not believed to be suspicious.

UPDATE: The vulnerable adult has been located safely. See full statement below.

UPDATE 3/13, 8:10 p.m. The Maple Grove Police Department is pleased to report that the vulnerable adult who was reported missing earlier today has been located safely.

We would like to thank our officers, partner agencies, and community members who assisted in the search and shared information. The quick response and cooperation from the public played an important role in helping ensure a safe outcome.

Out of respect for the individual’s privacy, no additional details will be released at this time.

The Maple Grove Police and Fire Departments appreciates the community’s continued support and willingness to help when situations like this arise.

COMMUNITY ALERT: Missing vulnerable adult. Last known location at the intersection of 89th Ave and Elm Creek Blvd in Maple Grove. 63 year old black male with black hair, wearing black pants and grey t-shirt.
