SSJID Board Director John Holbrook recently participated in the American Public Power Association's Day of Giving in Boston.

Approximately 180 APPA volunteers from across the country spent the day completing projects at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston's Yawkey Club in Roxbury, including painting, landscaping, cleaning, and facility improvements to help create a welcoming space for local youth.

We're proud to see John represent SSJID while joining fellow leaders in giving back to the community.

Did you know that a water shortage in 1915 helped shape SSJID's future?

This year marks the 110th anniversary of Woodward Reservoir, which was completed in 1916 near Oakdale after District leaders recognized the need for additional water storage following a dry winter and limited supplies.

Named after one of SSJID's founding board members, the reservoir increased the District's storage capacity by 36,000 acre feet and strengthened water reliability throughout the region.

Today, Woodward Reservoir remains an important part of SSJID's water operations, continuing the work it was built to do, helping provide a dependable water supply for farms and communities.
