In the last few days I’ve been moving some things around, and since I’m not going to be hatching -near- as many birds next year, I decided to put this cage back to its intended use. It is bigger than I thought it was, so I’m glad I had a space big enough in the rabbit building to put it. Now Taboo has himself a pretty neighbor lady and it will hopefully get him more interested in breeding - he is plenty old enough for it now. I can only hope he has more motivation to do so than his father does.

I can’t sleep and my mind is going 100 miles an hour. So I’m hoping y’all still see this. I’m finally ready to let go of my carrier cart, SPECIFICALLY, JUST the cart that’s toting all the carriers in this picture. It’s not a pretty thing anymore, but it still does its job of getting things from point A to point B, as long as you’re on pavement/indoors. I finally caved and got a bigger cart that will actually fully fit my 4 hole side loads so I don’t have to strategically place carriers so as not to tip the cart anymore.

If someone would like it, I will GIVE it to you. I’m not gonna need two carts. That means probably pickup in Mannington or at the MD show the weekend of November 21st (will have to go find the catalog to check exactly where and which day). Like I said, it’s not pretty anymore, but it does what it’s supposed to. That is probably the last show I will be at for the year (and I’ll probably at least have some Silver Martens to go with me), so otherwise, local peeps only.

I grabbed this picture from checking out at Convention last year since I knew it’d have the cart in it. It’s taken me to a LOT of shows the last… I don’t know, 6 years or so?

I worked with Cu some more on posing/general ability to stay on the table today. I’d say we made progress! He does nearly always insist on staring directly at me when he does decide to pose (or do his more common meerkat pose), which is an issue when I’m attempting to video, but … 🤷🏻‍♀️. He’s cute so I’ll let it slide. He’s still not really standing on his toes but I’m not sure if that’s a skill issue on our parts or a structural thing.

I do think he’d make one heck of a hopping rabbit, so we may try that out at some point. He’s super easy to work with and has a natural inclination to be on two legs only, so I imagine jumping wouldn’t be too big of a stretch.

Our chocolate Himi buck Bob should be here probably in about a week, and I’m so curious to see how his personality is. These guys are super fun to work with. Eventually I’ll have to work on finding a self based doe to even out the numbers, whether that be black/himalayan/tort/etc.
