Caterina Ranieri, PC
In 2011, I began my journey to learn about dual citizenship with Italy. My journey culminated in August 2012 when I was finally recognized as an Italian citizen. Since then, I have worked with hundreds of clients to help them get closer to their dreams.
Still waiting....
Since the June 9th Constitutional Court hearing, there has been no decision issued.
We are also still awaiting the Italian Supreme Court's ruling from the April 14th hearing. This one is expected to address the minor issue and generational limits.
Two courts. Two pending decisions. Hundreds of thousands of families whose futures hang in the balance.
If you have questions, leave them in the comments. I read every one and do my best to reply. 🇮🇹
In my house growing up, Sunday unfolded as expected in Italian immigrant households.
Mass first. Then my grandparents' apartment. Then a table that somehow fit everyone, loaded with homemade pasta, braccioli, chicken cutlets, and a sauce that had been simmering since early morning.
Was Sunday dinner a tradition in your Italian American household? What was always on the table? I'd love to hear what your Sunday table looked like.
Happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸
Today we celebrate the country our ancestors chose...
the one they crossed an ocean for...
learned a new language for...
and built a life here from nothing.
It is worth remembering that choosing America never meant leaving our abcestral countries behind entirely. For many of us, both flags tell our story.
Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday however you are celebrating today. 🇮🇹🇺🇸
Things I Have Learned From Family Records Series
A person's occupation on a record tells you more than what they did for a living.
It tells you where they lived, how they lived, and sometimes why they moved.
For example, a coal miner's children were born in different towns because the work moved and the family followed.
What occupation appears most often in your family records? I would love to hear what your ancestors built their lives around.
