Sometimes Mother Nature reminds you who’s really in charge.

Sunday night’s storm was one of the scariest we’ve ever experienced. Watching the wind tear through the property while towering trees came down around us was something we won’t soon forget.

Thankfully, the damage was far less than it could have been. Aside from a few downed limbs, one massive uprooted tree, and one very unlucky young vine, our newly planted vineyard weathered the storm remarkably well. Considering more than 1,200 vines have only been in the ground for a couple of months, we’ll gladly take that outcome.

We’re excited to get the property back in order and continue working toward opening our vineyard tasting room in Q4. There are still plenty of long days ahead, but moments like this remind us how resilient vineyards—and the people who build them—have to be.
