Cookies from the Counter

Hello friends and family!
It’s with a heavy heart that I write to you tonight to inform you that I am closing my cookie business for good! I have taken a break over this last year by only fulfilling orders I had already committed to and still found the process hard to pull off. As many of you know I have a chronic illness called Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (or POTS) for short. My illness caused me to have to quit my job as a nurse because my health rapidly declined until I was bedridden. For many months I lay around watching life go on around me when I couldn’t participate. That included the inability to care for my family both physically and financially.
As soon as physical therapy helped me get up on my feet I created this idea to start my own sugar cookie business. I loved buying cookies for birthdays and holidays and wanted to provide that for the city of Manhattan (and many other cities in the US) as well! I was proud of my self for starting a business from the ground up and how successful it became in such a short period of time. It was very therapeutic for me to feel like I was once again able to provide for my family by creating beautiful art on a cookie canvas but most importantly I LOVED getting to connect with each and everyone of you! I loved hearing your stories and seeing smiles on your families faces when you shared photos. It truly warmed my heart knowing that all of the hard work I put into each individual cookie meant just as much to you as it did to me. I will cherish these memories every day forward.
Since my youngest child was born I can no longer work during the day as I did before. Therefore, all cookie orders have been filled overnight to maintain cleanliness, but that made my POTS symptoms worse than ever before. The job I loved so dearly became increasingly physically taxing on my body with lack of sleep and periods of lying flat.
I love you all dearly, know you are understanding, and appreciate your support as I close this chapter of my life. Please let know if you need any references. I would be happy to help in any way I can.

Happy birthday to this adorable 8 year old. She was so excited to get cookies for her birthday that she ate one on the spot! I always love when my tiny customers approve 💗
