What can I say about my friend Jim Brown? I remember I really needed a job, and Richard (Richard Pryor) had just made Jim President of his production company, Indigo Productions.
I was a single mother, and my finances were tightening up, so I said, "Hey Jim, I really need some work. I need a job. Money is getting tight, and the gigs are slow."
My son spent a lot of time swimming at his house and running around, and he was fond of him, and knowing the importance of maintaining a stable home environment for a young black child, especially back then, he hired me on the spot as a storyboard editor. My first production gig behind the scenes. It wasn't so much about giving me the job, as it was his way of letting me know that we were all a family and a community that should always be there and have each other's back.
He NEVER let me fall. He had my back. Black Superman. 🙌🏽🙏🏽♥️
