Luminous Tour
Luminous is a traveling dance workshop where the focus is on each students creative evolution. Our Educators understand the significance of their actions and words. We teach with the goal of tapping into each students creative potential, cumulating body awareness for longevity in dance, and experiencing the JOY in movement. We want our students to love learning and we aim to create a space that allows for them to experience the positive impact that dance has on the body and mind.

Sarah Richman (she/her) is a passionate business operator, dance educator, and creative spirit. She honed her craft at the Long Island High School for the Arts and Maple Avenue Dance, gaining valuable experience in the dance convention world. Recognized as a Scholar Artist by New York State, Sarah’s love for choreography flourished, leading her to present original work throughout college. While at NYU’s Gallatin School, she also explored photography, painting, and drawing, all while continuing her dance training with programs like Lobos Arts Collective and LA Contemporary Dance Company.
Her choreography has been featured at prestigious events such as the Young Choreographer’s Festival and Peridance APAP. She co-founded Shift Dance Series during her junior year with Saskia Kivilo, creating an accessible space for dancers to collaborate and learn from emerging educators. Post college years, Sarah honed her teaching craft by teaching at dance studios nationwide while growing within SoulCycle, eventually managing international operations. She later became Chief Operating Officer at PRESS Modern Massage, overseeing multiple NYC locations, and helped open Canopy, a children’s play space in Brooklyn.
In 2022, with a group of creative collaborators, Sarah launched The Luminous Tour, a dance convention focused on community and accessibility. Now in its 3rd season, The Luminous Tour continues to bring the joy of dance to students of all ages with a team of top-tier educators. As a q***r woman business owner, Sarah faces challenges daily, but finds fulfillment in seeing students rediscover their love for movement during convention weekends.

✨DRUM ROLL PLEASE… INTRODUCING (yoga + flow state) AS A PERMANENT LUMINOUS EDUCATOR✨
Rosie DeAngelo (she/her) is a teacher, dancer, and choreographer based in Manhattan. Her work has been commissioned for the Youth American Grand Prix in NYC, and presented internationally at Micadanses (Paris), The Dance Gallery Festival, and Hofstra University. While living in New York City, Rosie has performed with Chris Masters Dance, Cameron McKinney/Kizuna Dance, Yin Mei Dance, and KEIGWIN + COMPANY. She attends a 10-day silent meditation retreat every year, and her daily meditation practice inspires her work. Rosie’s class + choreography combine contemporary dance with yoga and meditation techniques, in order to cultivate a “flow state”: quieting the brain’s default mode network (responsible for judgment, projections, anxiety), to navigate the present environment via the five senses. She believes we can only access our body’s full wisdom and potential once our minds are steady.
